Women and Child Development Department Schemes

1.Pradhan Mantri matri Vandana Yojana:-

Objective: – Scheme operated for improvement in nutrition level of pregnant and lactating mothers and supplementary reimbursement of their wages.

Eligibility:- Under the scheme, all pregnant women and lactating mothers, except such pregnant women and lactating mothers who are in regular employment with the Central Government or State Governments or Public Undertakings or who are getting similar benefits under any law for the time being in force, will be Eligible.

  • The scheme has been implemented from 01.01.2017, and the benefit of the scheme is payable only for the first living child.
  • Under the scheme, there is a provision for payment of Rs.5000/- in three installments to pregnant lactating women for the first living child.

2.Noni Suraksha Yojana:-

Objective: – The objective of this scheme is to raise the standard of living of the girl child and to improve the educational and health status of the girl child. Laying the foundation stone for the good future of girls. Stopping female feticide and bringing positive thinking in the public towards the birth of girls and prevention of child marriage.

Eligibility:-

  • The girl child should have been born on or after April 1, 2014.
  • Girls are living below poverty line.
  • The parents of the girl child should be native of Chhattisgarh state.
  • The benefit under the scheme is payable to two girls.

Benefits payable under the scheme: –

  • On the girl registered under the scheme not getting married till the age of 18 years and completing her education till class 12th, the financial institution will give Rs 1 lakh or maturity amount fixed by the government at that time, which will not be less than Rs 1 lakh.
  • In the name of eligible/registered girl child, Rs 5000 per year i.e. total Rs 25000 will be appropriated to the Life Insurance Corporation of India for 5 years.
  • All the formalities from receipt of application till payment will be done by Life Insurance Corporation of India. Bond/certificate will be issued after LIC releases the first installment in the name of the girl child. The benefits of other social security schemes run by the Life Insurance Corporation of India will also be payable to the girl child/family as per rules.

Process of Application: – To take advantage of the scheme, one has to apply by contacting the Anganwadi center of his village/locality/supervisor of the concerned area/Child Development Project Officer/District Women and Child Development Officer/District Program Officer, Women and Child Development Department. For this, application form is available in the respective offices.

 

3.Smart plan:-

The scheme has been started by Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh from 2009-10.

Eligibility: – Such women live under the poverty line in the state whose husband has died or unmarried women in the age group of 35 to 45 or legally divorced women. Sexual harassment, HIV positive and third gender (Trans Gender) beneficiaries will also be eligible to take advantage of the scheme.

Loan: – To start own business, while increasing the loan limit, loan is provided in easy installments up to Rs. 02 lakh in multiples of Rs. 40 thousand. The said loan is repaid in 5 years in installments at only 3 percent simple annual interest rate. This amendment order is applicable from 28.09.2021.

 

4.Swavalamban Yojana:-

Eligibility:- Skill training is provided to women whose husband has died or unmarried women in the age group of 35 to 45 or legally divorced women. Sexual harassment, HIV positive and third gender (Trans Gender) beneficiaries will also be eligible to take advantage of the scheme.

Training :- All training are given  under Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme V.T.P.

5.Loan plan:-

Purpose:- With the Aim of Empowering women Socially and Economically in the state of Chhattisgarh, through the Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh, providing loans to women self-help groups on easy terms.

Eligibility and loan:- Under the scheme, at 3 per annum simple interest rate, in the first time from Rs.1.00 lakh to Rs.2.00 lakh (recovery in 24 installments) and in the second time from Rs.2.00 lakh to Rs.4.00 lakh (recovery in 36 installments) is done. This amendment order is applicable from 28.09.2021.

Women suffering from sexual harassment and HIV can be given loans on the basis of priority to be linked to economic activities on the basis of the medical certificate issued by the government doctor, subject to fulfillment of other eligibility conditions.

These women will be provided a personal loan of Rs 10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only in words) at the rate of 3 percent simple interest, after the approval of the District Collector, on the proposals submitted through the District Manager, Chhattisgarh Mahila Kosh.

On the formation of a self-help group by these women, a loan amount of 1.00 lakh (Rupees one lakh only in words) will be sanctioned to the group at the rate of 3 percent simple interest. This loan will be provided by the concerned District Manager with the approval of the District Collector. Other terms and conditions under the scheme will remain the same. Third gender (Trans Gender) beneficiaries will also be eligible to take advantage of these schemes.

 

6.Chief Minister Child Reference Scheme:-

Chief Minister Child Reference Scheme has been started from the year 2009. The scheme is being operated to reduce the rate of malnutrition by bringing the severely malnourished children out of the cycle of malnutrition. Medicines prescribed by the doctor and consultation facility of pediatricians are made available as per requirement.

  • Efforts to mark 2 days in a month as reference day in each development block.
  • Identification of children’s infections.
  • Arrangement of health check-up in private medical examination institute up to a maximum limit of Rs.300/-.
  • Medicines up to a maximum of Rs.500/- can be made available to a beneficiary in a year and medicines of more than this amount can also be made available in consultation with the medical officer if required.
  • Provision of honorarium of Rs.1000/- and travel expenses up to Rs.500/- for the services of private pediatrician.
  • Apart from this, from the year 2016-17, funds have also been made available to Anganwadi workers for transportation of malnourished children, if required.

 

7.Nawabihan Yojana:-

For the implementation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005, the Nawabihan scheme is run by the state government. According to the provisions of the Act, Women Protection Officer has been posted in each district.

Facility and Assistance:- Under the scheme, provision has been made to provide legal advice, counseling, medical, facility, transport and shelter facility to the victim woman as per the requirement.

8.Sakhi (One Stop Center):-

Purpose:- To provide immediate medical, legal aid, psychological advice, police assistance, temporary shelter, mental therapy, counseling facility/assistance to the victim and distressed, needy women under one roof.

One stop center for whom:- All those women (including girls below 18 years of age) in distress/victim who need help.

“Sakhi” One Stop Center is operational in 27 districts of the state.

Facility and help:-

  • Emergency Support and Rescue.
  • Medical aid.
  • Providing assistance to women in registering FIR/DIR/NCR.
  • Psychological/social/counselling/advice and support.
  • Legal advice/assistance/legal consultation.
  • Emergency Shelter Facility
